Wendy was a middle school health education teacher for 7 years. She then taught abstinence education for 9 years and at that time realized the influences, temptations, and choices teens were making that affected their physical and mental health. When the abstinence organization she worked for closed its doors, Wendy's burning desire to continue educating and inspiring teens remained. She founded Alive & Well and became Executive Director in 2008. Her favorite part of the job is reminding students every day: No matter what has happened in the past, you can, today, make choices that will put you on a positive path for your future! When not at Alive & Well, she can be found spending quality time with her husband Kyle, 3 amazing kids, 10 cows, 3 rabbits, 1 dog, and a lot of cats! Wendy also coaches track and runs a local summer program.
